Fluxism: A Manifesto

Fluxism is a philosophy that teaches individuals to consciously expand their energetic state and ride the waves of an ever-changing reality.

Core Principles of Fluxism

1. Reality is in a state of flux

Fluxism views reality as a continuous flow of change and energy rather than a fixed structure. Nothing in existence remains static.

Systems form, interact, evolve and dissolve within a larger movement of processes.

The universe does not operate toward a predetermined purpose or final destination. It simply unfolds through constant transformation.

2. Life generates energy

Within this unfolding process, dynamic systems generate powerful forms of vitality.

Emotional intensity, creative inspiration, collective excitement, and deep states of focus are expressions of this energy.

These energetic states arise naturally when complex systems interact, particularly in environments where rhythm, attention and shared emotion align.

All living and non-living entities exist within networks of relationships. Organisms, environments, societies and ecosystems influence one another continuously.

Together these complex systems create the whole. The whole is a dynamic form and is the ultimate source of energy.

The behaviour of the whole cannot be reduced to its individual parts.

3. Individuals can channel energy from the whole

Human beings are capable of consciously engaging with these dynamic flows of energy. Certain conditions activate stronger states of vitality.

Music can shift emotional and cognitive states within seconds. Physical movement can awaken momentum and focus.

Symbolic acts and rituals during moments of personal transformation signal the emergence of a new identity.

Environments and rituals can prime different versions of the self.

4. Perception shapes experience

Perception shapes how reality is experienced.

Every organism perceives only a portion of the world through its sensory and cognitive filters.

As perception shifts, the interpretation of events shifts as well. Reality therefore appears differently depending on perspective.

5. Identity is fluid

Identity itself is fluid. The self is not a fixed entity but a dynamic pattern of states, habits and energies.

When new states are activated and repeatedly embodied, new identities emerge.

6. Life is a series of waves to be ridden

Fluxism holds that life is best approached as participation in this flow of change and energy.

Existence carries no inherent cosmic meaning. Yet it offers endless opportunities for experience, mastery and expression.

The skill of living lies in recognising the shifting currents of reality and learning to ride the waves rather than resisting them.

Practising Fluxism means learning to activate, maintain and regulate energetic states

1. State activation

Start the day by deliberately shifting energy.

Examples:
- music that activates confidence or focus
- physical movement or training
- breathwork or cold exposure

The goal is to move from passive stagnation to intentional momentum.

2. Environmental design

Different environments activate different states.

Fluxist practice involves designing spaces for specific modes:
- creation
- deep thinking
- training
- rest

The environment becomes a state trigger.

3. Rhythm alignment

Daily life benefits from rhythm.

Practices include:
- focused work blocks
- movement cycles
- periods of social energy
- recovery and solitude

Energy becomes sustainable when life has rhythmic patterns.

4. Identity signals

Transformation begins with symbolic signals.

Examples include:
- physical changes marking new phases
- rituals before important tasks
- deliberate changes in posture, clothing or environment

These signals tell the mind that a new state has begun.

5. Flow cultivation

Regularly enter activities that generate deep engagement.

Examples:
- training a physical skill
- creative work
- problem-solving challenges

Flow states allow energy to be channelised without friction.

6. Collective energy exposure

Groups amplify vitality.

Fluxism encourages participating in environments where energy is high:
- intense conversations
- collaborative work
- live music
- sport or performance
- collective rituals

These environments generate shared momentum.

7. Recovery and regulation

Energy must also be stabilised.

Practices include:
- sleep and rest
- silence or solitude
- time in natural environments

Recovery allows the system to reset and renew vitality.

Life is a field of dynamic energies. And the art of living is learning to sense, activate and channel those energies.

Self-Shrinking

In the framework of Fluxism, self-shrinking is the psychological pattern that compresses life energy instead of expressing it.

Self-shrinking is the tendency to reduce one’s presence, potential and expression in response to fear, doubt, social pressure or internal hesitation.

It manifests as:

- holding back ideas
- avoiding visibility
- overexplaining instead of asserting
- tolerating behaviour that violates boundaries
- minimising one's capabilities
- shrinking identity to stay comfortable or accepted

Fluxism encourages expansion and activation.
Self-shrinking creates contraction and stagnation.

Life is a dynamic tension between two forces:

1. Expansion
Energy moving outward.

Characteristics:
- expression
- confidence
- creativity
- movement
- leadership
- experimentation

Expansion allows individuals to ride the waves of life.

2. Contraction (Self-Shrinking)
Energy collapsing inward.

Characteristics:
- hesitation
- overthinking
- people-pleasing
- avoidance
- conformity
- suppression of voice

Self-shrinking disconnects individuals from the energetic flow of life.

How self-shrinking kills energy

Self-shrinking disrupts energy in 3 ways:

1. It blocks activation
When someone hesitates or doubts themselves, the activation of energetic states stops before it has a chance to begin.
Momentum never forms.

2. It fragments identity
Self-shrinking causes people to split their identity into safe and suppressed parts.
This internal conflict weakens the expression of energy.

3. It disconnects from collective energy
Shrinking prevents individuals from engaging with high-energy environments fully.
They remain mere observers instead of participants.

The Fluxist response to self-shrinking

Fluxism treats self-shrinking as a signal, not a permanent identity.

When contraction appears, the response is deliberate expansion.

Expansion practices include:
- speaking clearly instead of softening messages
- changing posture and physical presence
- entering energising environments
- activating states through music or movement
- symbolic actions or rituals that mark growth

The aim is to restore energetic flow.

Energy expands ➡ life becomes expressive and dynamic
Energy shrinks ➡ life becomes restricted and stagnant

Life thrives through expansion of energy and withers through self-shrinking.

The Wave Principle of Fluxism

Life constantly generates waves of change, opportunity, challenge, emotion and pressure.

These waves are neutral forces.

What determines the experience is your energetic position relative to the wave.

When energy is expanded

When a person is activated, expressive and engaged:
They meet the wave at its crest.

From this position:
- momentum carries them forward
- the wave becomes propulsion
- challenge becomes excitement
- uncertainty becomes exploration

They ride the wave.

The force that could have crushed them instead lifts them.

When energy is shrunk

When a person contracts through hesitation, fear or self-doubt:
They go under the wave.

From this position:
- pressure feels overwhelming
- opportunity feels threatening
- change feels like chaos
- uncertainty becomes anxiety

The same wave that could have been ridden now crashes down on them.

They drown in the force they could have used.

The problem is not the wave

The wave is simply life in motion.
The problem is energetic contraction.

Self-shrinking removes the capacity to rise with the wave.

When you shrink, you lose the energy needed to ride the wave.
You end up beneath it, watching it crash down on you.
